Web Accessibility Fundamentals Course Logo

Web Accessibility Fundamentals takes the complicated world of web accessibility and breaks it down into the issues you're most likely to encounter in your day-to-day work. You'll learn practical, actionable steps for creating, managing, and publishing accessible digital content.

The course covers the legal and regulatory framework, relevant case law, WCAG and its core principles, and common accessibility issues involving headings, links, images and alternative text, text formatting, tables, captions, and more. You'll also learn about testing and evaluation tools, see a screen reader in action, and experience firsthand how accessibility impacts the end user.

You'll receive a 22 pages' worth of printable notes containing practical reference material and sample audit procedures, along with an Alt-Text Cheat Sheet with step-by-step instructions for adding alternative text across common platforms and social media.

Course 1 – Web Accessibility Fundamentals

Course 2 – Document Accessibility Fundamentals

In Production - Coming December 2026

Build on the knowledge you gained in Web Accessibility Fundamentals and take the next step into document accessibility. Documents are more complex than web pages and require a greater level of skill to make accessible. They are also unavoidable in public-sector communications.

From handbooks and forms to election packets, financial audits, and other documents that may be required to be published for legal reasons, organizations rely on documents to deliver essential information to the public.

In this course, you'll learn how to design and remediate documents for accessibility, including structure, tagging, reading order, tables, images, forms, and other elements that can create barriers for people using assistive technology. You'll learn practical techniques for creating and remediating documents so they can meet WCAG requirements and be published with confidence.
